When the behavior profile build fails
The built-in behavior profile (Jamf Pro Computers) runs the jamf-pro-computers command without the profile option at minute 55 of every hour, so it runs with every Jamf Pro connect profile if there are several. If any of them fails to log in or lacks permission to read computers, the build fails. For the required permission, see the Jamf Pro account section of the Install Guide.
- Find the failed connect profile in the error message.
- Add the required permission to the account of that connect profile, or delete the connect profile if it is not used.
- To use only a specific connect profile, create a new behavior profile with the same query and add
profile=<identifier>to the query, because the built-in behavior profile cannot be modified.
When the cause is hard to find
Use the Permission Check Script to call the Jamf Pro API with the same settings as the Sonar connect profile and see the privileges the account actually has and whether the APIs the app uses succeed. Sending the result file to Logpresso technical support helps the analysis.
