jennifer-instances
List the JENNIFER domains and their instances (application server agents) through the console. Start here: every other jennifer- console command takes the domain_id and instance_ids it returns. Without a period it lists the instances registered in the console now, with their state, host and Kubernetes pod; with duration, from or to it lists the instances that reported in that period, so it also finds the old ids of restarted pods when you analyze the past. Next, read the metrics of a domain's instances with jennifer-metrics.
jennifer-instances [profile=VALUE] [domain_id=VALUE] [duration=VALUE] [from=VALUE] [to=VALUE]
- profile=VALUE
- Optional. Name of the JENNIFER console connect profile (type jennifer-apm-console). Every such profile you are granted is used when omitted. With domain_id, which is an id of one console, exactly one profile must be used: name it when you are granted several.
- domain_id=VALUE
- Optional. e.g. 1000. Only this domain (sid). Every domain of the console is listed when omitted.
- duration=VALUE
- Optional. e.g. 10m for the last 10 minutes. Recent period up to now, in s(second), m(minute), h(hour), d(day) units. With a period (duration, from or to), the instances that reported in it are listed instead of those registered now, stopped ones included. w(week) and mon(month) units work too.
- from=VALUE
- Optional. Start of the period, yyyyMMddHHmmss. Omitted digits are padded with zero. Overrides duration.
- to=VALUE
- Optional. End of the period, yyyyMMddHHmmss. Omitted digits are padded with zero. Now when omitted.
Output fields
| Field | Type | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| profile | String | Connect profile | e.g. jennifer-prod |
| domain_id | Integer | Domain ID | e.g. 1000. The sid; pass it as domain_id= to the other jennifer- console commands. |
| domain_name | String | Domain name | e.g. siem-mon |
| instance_id | Long | Instance ID | e.g. 75553. The OID; pass several comma separated as instance_ids=. Null on the single row of a domain without instances. |
| instance_name | String | Instance name | e.g. siem-mon-console-1. The name the console screens show. Not unique over time: a restarted pod or process comes back as a new instance id under the same name. |
| status | String | Status | running, stopped, license_problem or disabled. The state now, not during the period. |
| registered | Boolean | Registered | true when the instance is in the console's domain bar now. With a period, false marks an instance that has gone, e.g. the old id of a restarted pod. |
| host_name | String | Host name | e.g. siem-mon-console-1. Registered instances only. |
| host_id | Integer | Host ID | e.g. 1. Registered instances only; some console APIs address an instance as sid/host_id/oid. |
| long_name | String | Long name | e.g. siem-mon-console-1 |
| k8s_pod_uid | String | Kubernetes pod UID | Registered instances in Kubernetes only. |
| k8s_container | String | Kubernetes container | e.g. console. Registered instances in Kubernetes only. |
| status_message | String | Status message | e.g. a 'Not supported' warning of the agent version. Null when there is none. |
